    Auto Installer for Joomla! 1.5.x Content Management System

    I’m happy to announce that version 1.0 of JL Auto Installer is now available.

    We are a bit behind schedule here. But the important thing is that this is our first software focusing on the Joomla! platform.

    JL Auto Installer is to Joomla! what WP Auto Installer is to Wordpress: a one-click auto-installer.

    With JL Auto Installer, setting up a Joomla! website is quick, simple and accessible to anyone :-)

    JL Auto Installer lets you perform ONE-click installations of one or several Joomla websites.

    Enter your login information and start the install process. For multiple installations, you can import the list of Joomla sites you want to create from a csv file.

    		 Joomla! is an award-winning Content Management System (CMS) that will help you build websites and other powerful online applications. Best of all, Joomla! is an open source solution that is freely available to everybody.

    • fopen enabled.
    • Curl enabled, with openSSL.
    • Safe mode turned off.
    • Open outgoing ports 2082 and 2083.
    • Safe mode turned off.
    • Enable outgoing FTP connections on port 21.
    • Cpanel: Must be installed on any domain where you want to create new Joomla site.

      Great looking tool. Joomla needs this kind of software in order to close the gap on WordPress. If it is as good as the WordPress version then we will be doing fine!

      “close the gap on WordPress”? - I nearly coughed over my cornflakes! Take a look at http://extensions.joomla.org/ and see where the gap lies, and it’s not with Joomla.

      There are already a number of backups/cloners/installers, but what’s really needed are Joomla versions of, say, Auto Social Poster and just plain pingers - yes, incredibly, pinging is still a black art with Joomla although its RSS is brilliant. No, I don’t get it either.

      I can see you have contrasting views on the relative strengths of Joomla! and Wordpress :-)

      IMHO, both platforms are great! This is why we have started doing products also for Joomla! and not only for Wordpress as we used to…

      Chris, could you please describe what should be the features of the ‘plain pingers’ you mentioned in your comment?
