Red Shield Protection Offers Peace of Mind for RV and Motorhome Owners

Automotive

There are more than a million Americans who own a motorhome in the US. However, not all of them know the intricacies of insurance protection despite the legislation in their respective states.

Red Shield Protection, the premier auto insurance company in Arizona, has two main protection plans for RV and motorhome owners. Both of these plans are designed to give the clients the maximum benefits.

Motor Home Premier — The Motor Home Premier virtually covers all components and parts of the motor home that are factory installed. However, there’s a very small list of exemptions, which involve only the trim or maintenance items. The exemptions are listed in the “Exclusions” portion of the contract.

Travel Trailer Premier — The Travel Trailer Premier covers all components and parts of the RV trailer that are factory installed. However, there’s a very small list of exemptions, which involve only the trim or maintenance items. The exemptions are listed in the “Exclusions” portion of the contract.

The typical coverage for your RV or trailer is similar to your car or SUV plan. The plan covers the engine, transmission, drive axles, front and rear suspension, steering, air conditioning, brakes, electrical, electronics, AC/heating, among others.

But Red Shield also offers additional coverage options, as well. Among these are the 4×4 option, the wear and tear on your chassis, and the diesel engine package. You can also apply for a separate premium if you use your vehicle for commercial use.

However, insurance for the towable RV (Class C) is optional because the coverage in your car will typically extend toward the trailer, according to the law in most states. With that said, it doesn’t hurt to get additional coverage, especially if you are using the trailer RV extensively.

Generally, towable vehicles are more affordable to insure because they don’t have an engine and motor.

If you own a motorhome (Class A or B), you definitely need insurance in Arizona. Although full coverage is not required depending on whether or not you applied for financing on your vehicle. However, it’s always a good idea to secure insurance for your own peace of mind whenever you travel on the road.

The need for insurance has never been more crucial if you are living in your motorhome and adopting a nomadic lifestyle. There’s a certain attraction to going around America, traveling the off-beaten track, and visiting attractions not listed in your usual tourist brochures.

But there’s a downside to that. When your RV has racked up the mileage, it’s prone to wear and tear. And it’s the little things that can add up the bills.

The good thing about Red Shield Protection is the roadside assistance and emergency assistance. This means that when your motorhome breaks down, you can just ring up the company and a towing vehicle will be sent to your location. If there’s no way to tow the vehicle immediately, a car will be sent to pick you up and ferry you to the nearest hotel while your motor home is being repaired.
