For the year 2020, Jeep has dressed up the lineup of Cherokee with a handful of useful upgrades. Though the trim levels continues to be called with the same names like Latitude, Latitude Plus, Limited, Overland, and Trailhawk, a fair amount of changes breathed in some fresh air into these models, that included few additional active safety features, introduction of Amazon Alexa tech to the infotainment system, few new paint colors, a better quality upholstery, and few wheel choices.

More Power Under the Hood

Good news is awaiting the 2020 Cherokee buyers who will now have the option to choose from three engine capacities: one a 2.4-liter inline-4, another being a 2.0-liter turbo-4 one, and at the top a 3.2-liter V-6 engine to power the top of the line models.

All of them offer good power, with increasing towing ability, as they climb up the stairs of price range while a decent fuel economy will be coming as a surprise gift to all the model owners despite the increased power under the hood.

Jeep sets front-wheel drive as the standard drivetrain while keeping the all-wheel drive as available, and to ensure better vehicle control on the slopes of hilly roads, all the Cherokees are given the advantage of pairing their respective engines with a 9-speed automatic transmission that is known for its refined response. The top of the range Trailhawk modelswill also be equipped with a real off-road capability and extra gamut of strength through pairs of knobby tires, higher ground clearance, good quality plastic bumpers and fenders. Anyone who observed the last year models of Cherokee will instantly notice the newly improvisedangles both at the approach and departures, while the drivers will be thankful to the automaker for installing the skid plates, while driving through deep snow, steep hilly roads, through sandy surfaces and slippery roads.

To deal with higher altitudes, Jeep prepares the Cherokee models with three drivetrain options that will return the following fuel economy rates:

Altitude 4×4  will fetch an EPA rated 21mpg in the city roads and 29 mpg on the highways

Altitude FWDwill improve the EPA ratings as it will return 22 mpg with the city drive speed and jump to 31 mpg when driven consistently with highway speed.
